Human connection is ultimately what drives my purpose, and envisioning that connection on an impactful scale is what led me to this career. As Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources officer at Target, I’m grateful for the opportunity to infuse empathetic connection into all aspects of HR for our global team of more than 350,000 team members – from recruitment engagement and development to meaningful benefits.

Our team is the driving force behind Target’s success, and every day comes together for a singular purpose: to help all families discover the joy of everyday life. It’s my privilege to help deliver on that purpose through ongoing investments in our team and in cultivating our values of inclusivity, connection and drive. Our culture is one where everyone belongs, impacts our business and can pursue their career goals. We care, grow and win together.

Our team members have played a major role in Target being named one of Fortune’s World’s Most Admired Companies, 100 Best Companies to Work For and Best Places to Work for Millennials, in addition to one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies. Our core values of diversity and inclusion have led to Target being named one of the Top 50 Companies for Diversity by DiversityInc for 12 years in a row.

I’m a current member of the HR Policy Association, the Center for Exec Comp, the Center for Exec Succession and the Gallup Retail CHRO Roundtable. I’m also a current co-chair and member of the governing body of the Evanta CHRO Exec Summit. I live in Target’s hometown of the Twin Cities with my husband and our two children.
