UKG held its largest customer and partner conference, UKG Aspire, in Las Vegas in November 2023, and Constellation Research was invited and able to assess the progress of the vendor, evaluate strategy, and talk in depth with customers and partners.
A year ago, UKG had its first joint user conference across legacy Kronos and Ultimate Software customers. And like the conferences, its product suite is coming together, combining the best of the UKG Workforce Management (formerly Kronos Dimensions) product and the UKG Pro Suite (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro HCM Suite). Next to that, UKG will continue to offer its leading Workforce Management (WFM) to customers as a stand-alone version as well as offering a small/medium enterprise (SME) product (UKG Ready suite).
At Aspire, UKG showed that these efforts are well under way, prompting the title of this Constellation Research News Analysis report. UKG is not only creating a new unified human capital management (HCM) suite for large enterprises but is also undertaking a platform overhaul: Besides providing its low-code platform, FleX, UKG is also adopting generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) across its offerings and pushing further into international HCM automation and global payroll with its recent acquisition of Immedis. A merger of product suites at the scale of the former Kronos and Ultimate Software suites has never been undertaken successfully in the history of HCM software, so UKG literally is writing not only its own next chapter but also the next chapter for the entire HCM industry.
