About This Constellation ShortList™
This ShortList presents Constellation’s pick of NoSQL databases (including document databases, key-value stores, column stores and graph databases) that are available both as software and as services across leading public clouds. This combination provides the best advantages of cloud computing while avoiding lock-in and fostering hybrid-deployment and cloud portability. Product such as Amazon DynamoDB are not on the list as they only support one major public cloud.
Threshold Criteria
Constellation considers the following criteria for these solutions:
- Available as software for on-premises/ private-cloud deployment
- Available as a cloud service on multiple major public clouds
- Cloud services are supported by the cloud provider or NoSQL store software provider
- Demonstrates ongoing customer growth and product advancement

Constellation evaluates over 20 products categorized in this market. This Constellation ShortList is determined by client inquiries, partner conversations, customer references, vendor selection projects, market share and internal research.
