Byron Yount, PhD, is the Chief Data and Artificial Intelligence Officer at Mercy located in Chesterfield, Missouri. Dr. Yount is accountable for Mercy’s strategy, governance, platforms, products, and services for data, analytics, and AI, ensuring alignment to Mercy’s strategic imperatives and performance goals. He has a secondary appointment as the Head of Transformation Operations, partnering with leaders and key stakeholders across Mercy and the Office of Transformation in the continual advancement of a world-class partner and platform ecosystem supporting improvements to patient and caregiver experience, achievement of operational excellence, and performance in value-based care. He is an accountable leader for Mercy’s investment in the Mayo Clinic Platform and the Microsoft Strategic Partnership on Healthcare Innovation.
Dr. Yount completed academic training in epidemiology at Saint Louis University and in interdisciplinary clinical and translational research at Washington University in St. Louis through a fellowship supported by the National Institutes of Health.
