Water is essential for life, and to our ability to mitigate climate change and advance toward net zero goals. As Chief Sustainability Officer at Ecolab, I lead the development and implementation of our sustainability strategy, with a focus on water stewardship and climate action. Through corporate responsibility, environmental stewardship, global partnerships and innovative technology, we help our customers operate more sustainably. It’s a passion that drives me personally and professionally.
In my 40 years at Ecolab, I’ve held many roles in technical, marketing and business management across various industries such as food and beverage, healthcare, automotive and more. These experiences have served me well for the past 11 years in my role leading and executing sustainability initiatives across Ecolab’s many industries. Through the introduction of diagnostic and planning tools, like Ecolab’s Water Risk Monetizer and Smart Water Navigator, and collaborating through public-private partnerships, such as the Water Resilience Coalition and California Water Resilience Initiative, I’m proud to convene efforts that make a meaningful impact on conserving and protecting this vital resource across the world.
Inspired by Ecolab’s longstanding commitment to sustainability, I co-authored “Clean: Lessons from Ecolab’s Century of Positive Impact” in 2023 with Paul C. Godfrey, Ph.D., a professor of business strategy at the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University. In addition, I am actively involved in operationalizing global sustainability practices through leadership in environmental, social and governance practices, reporting and performance, and have collaborated with a number of large impact investors on initiatives designed to address water stewardship, climate action and business growth.
I’ve also been honored by the opportunity to serve in leadership roles with numerous global organizations. I currently chair the board of directors of the World Environment Center, a global non-profit, non-advocacy organization, and the leadership council of the Corporate Eco Forum, a membership organization for Fortune and Global 500 companies that are committed to sustainability as a business strategy issue.
