Scott Strickland has 26 years of information systems experience and the scars to prove it.
Currently EVP & Chief Information Officer of Wyndham Hotels and resorts Scott is responsible for all aspects of IT at the world’s largest hotel company. He and his team are standardizing platforms to enable internal innovation and transform both the guest experience and the IT organization. In addition, the team supports over 6,500 franchisees globally for 19 Wyndham brands including Days Inn, Super 8, Ramada, LaQuinta, Tryp, and Howard Johnson.
Previously while CIO at the D+M Group (the Bain Capital holding company for the consumer electronics brands of Denon, Marantz, and Boston Acoustics) Scott was responsible for all information services at this dynamic company. He and his team had transitioned to a cloud infrastructure, implemented a common website platform across 72 countries in 18 languages, established consistent financial reporting, and transitioned to a global supply chain planning solution.
Prior to joining the D+M Group, Scott was a business unit CIO at Black & Decker for five years. Responsible for all information systems at Black & Decker worldwide, Scott was challenged with continuing to meet high retail service level expectations from Lowes, Home Depot, and Walmart while driving costs down across the enterprise.
Scott joined Black & Decker from IBM/PriceWaterhouseCoopers Management Consulting Practice where he was an Associate Partner leading Supply Chain and eBusiness work on the West Coast. While at IBM, Scott consulted with Toyota, Intel, Mattel, HP, and Albertson’s and lived in both California and the United Kingdom.
Before consulting, Scott had a “real” job at M&M/Mars for 6 years where he gained 10 pounds in 2 months, was responsible for information systems in Argentina, and now can’t bear to smell M&M’s anymore.
Scott graduated from Trinity University (US) and University of Oxford (UK – Said Business School). He lives in Franklin Lakes New Jersey and is an avid runner, a mediocre skier, a freshman motorcycle rider, and a busy father.
