Sam Yen currently heads digital transformation for the Commercial Real Estate business at J.P. Morgan Chase.  Formerly, he was SAP’s first Chief Design Officer and the Managing Director for SAP’s Silicon Valley Labs.  He was responsible for driving design and user experience across the company.  Sam also led SAP’s Design Thinking Practice both internally and for clients.  During his 13-year tenure, SAP became recognized as one of the world’s leading design-centered organizations (DMI design value index) and won several prestigious design awards including several Red Dot awards.  Dr. Yen holds a PhD from Stanford’s Design Program and has taught courses about bringing design to large-scale organizations at Stanford’s Institute for Design (the d.school) and the Graduate School of Business at Stanford.
