A quick facebook search will reveal more than 100 different Jake Levy’s. Most are jewish, many are white, and a few of them are men - but only one studied Nuclear Engineering and leveraged his learnings in energy and physics to join BuzzFeed, where he quantified the art of getting as many people as possible to look at pictures of cute dogs and grumpy cats. After nailing the formula, he click-baited millions of people into looking at his own data-driven content, such as ‘The Smartest Party Schools’ and ‘Penis Size By State’. Even Jose Canseco was impressed, or at least whoever runs his twitter account. Leaving a trail of traumatized readers in his wake, he went on to help The New Yorker automate processes and eliminate jobs. Now finished with his MBA at Stanford, he’s locating the next big technology frontier at a company that can keep track of everything except where to go next. And when he can't figure out the right direction, he invests in smarter people who do.
