Phil joined the Board in January 2018 and has brought a fresh, global perspective on technology to the Operating Board in addition to a wealth of experience in digital, data and business transformation. Prior to joining Sainsbury’s, Phil had a long and successful track record in telecommunications. Most recently he was Global Chief Information Officer at Telefonica overseeing Digital Transformation and Information Technology and prior to that was Chief Information Officer for Vodafone UK/Ireland. Phil has worked as a Non-Executive Advisor on Technology in the Investment & Retail Banking sector and is currently a Non-Executive Director of TalkTalk Telecom Group PLC and chairs its Cyber-Security Committee.
