ClearChoice was experiencing hyper-growth going from 3 stores in 2007 to 31 stores in 2012.  Unfortunately, we were running a state of the art 1995 accounting division.  Through this project we transformed the finance function into a trusted advisor with real time data availability and cutting edge technology.

Disruptive Factor

This project is disruptive on two fronts.  First we are spending a fraction of the cost a traditional ERP system would require in financial and human capital to administer.  Second, NetSuite has freed our IT staff to work on data analysis, improving system efficiency, and user optimization, instead of just maintaining software.  Our people are thinking about improving the business with IT instead of software versions, upgrades, and maintenance.

Shining Moment

There are two moments that represent the impact of the project.  First our merger negotiations were at an impasse with our doctors.  They didn’t trust the data until NetSuite was rolled out.  The credibility of the new system was crucial to completing a 115 million dollar merger.  Jeff Adams CFO of ClearChoice said, “If we had NetSuite in place six months prior, this deal would have been easy.”  

The second moment came at SuiteWorld 2011 when our team won a hairball award from NetSuite for most applications replaced.  The CEO of NetSuite told me, “I don’t know how you did it.”
