ServiceNow said it will acquire Veza in a move that will bring identity tools to its security and risk portfolio.

Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

ServiceNow said in a statement that Veza specializes in identity security and enables enterprises to understand and control who and what has access to data, applications, systems and AI artifacts.

Veza's main technology is its Access graph, which maps and analyzes access relationships across human, machine and AI identities. The latter part is critical given that vendors are adding identity access technologies for AI agents.

The plan for ServiceNow is to add Veza to its AI Control Tower, which governs and orchestrates AI agents. ServiceNow will also add Veza to its security and risk portfolio including vulnerability response, incident response and integrated risk management. ServiceNow's security and risk applications have more than $1 billion in annual contract value.

Veza, founded in 2000, has more than 150 global enterprise customers.

Constellation Research analyst Holger Mueller said:

"While ServiceNow keeps declaring AI platform readiness, it keeps making key architecture decisions and Veza is no exception. While the acquisition makes sense and maybe also differentiating, CxOs should expect ripple effects across the architecture from a runtime and implementation perspective."
