As the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Wheaton College, Wendy provides vision, leadership and innovation in developing College-wide strategies for leveraging the potential of technology in advancing Wheaton’s academic and institutional objectives. She is responsible for selecting and supporting all administrative and academic information technology (IT) system operations, data centers, process improvement, business intelligence and report writing, IT support services, communication networks (voice and data), systems integration, enterprise systems management, and IT security, as well as establishing technology standards and policy, and pursuing compliance. In addition, Wendy coordinates the alignment of IT strategy with business objectives by evaluating the overall information technology operations and project portfolio through business metrics. The chief information officer also ensures efficient, cost-effective operation of IT for the enterprise that exemplifies good stewardship, in collaboration with partners and stakeholders.
She actively collaborates with colleagues across the higher education vertical, through leadership and other activities with EDUCAUSE, CLAC, WSIT, HESS, SIM Chicago, CCCU and other organizations. Wendy previously served for 15+ years at Northwestern University (IL), the last ten as Director of Technology Support Services. Wendy's previous experience includes executive management responsibility in customer focused, technologically enhanced operations. She has an M.S. in Communication, emphasis on systems, strategy, and management, from Northwestern University and a B.A. in Organizational Management from North Park University.
